TESTIMONIALS | alaska sitka blacktail deer hunting

CROWN POINT, IN

"We were well cared for during the entire trip(7 days) and were able to experience the beauty of Kodiak Island in areas few rarely see. Captain Brandon is very experienced and professional and we never doubted both his skills as a captain and knowledge of the area. Each night we were tucked awway in a protective cove offering great sleeping conditions."

SOLDOTNA, AK

"Went on the week long vessel-based deer hunt on Kodiak Island with my 22-year-old son. Can't say enough about Captain Johnny and Brandon, they were great and on top of everything at all times. The meals were fantastic every time and plenty of food to fill a hungry belly, whether it be a hot breakfast before hunting or a fantastic dinner after a great day of hunting. The deer were plentiful in all of the areas we got dropped off, as my son and I harvested great bucks. I will definitely be back to spend another week with these two guys and enjoy another great hunt."

ANCHORAGE, AK

"Brandon was phenomenal. Put us on fish and was clear about the expectations for the day. We went for quality over quantity and were not disappointed."

the experience

These trips aren’t about rushing through Alaska.

They’re about getting away from the road system, spending your days hunting wild country, fishing when the opportunity is right, and coming back to the boat at the end of it all.

OPTIONAL DUCK HUNTING

For those looking to pack even more into their time on Kodiak, guided duck hunting may also be available as an addition to your trip.

Fall brings incredible waterfowl opportunities to Alaska’s coast and offers another way to experience Kodiak after time spent pursuing blacktail.

ADD FISHING

Kodiak isn’t only known for its hunting.

Guided fishing can be incorporated into the trip, giving you the opportunity to experience the waters surrounding the island while you’re here.

Conditions, regulations, and the time of year will determine what we target.

basecamp

Instead of sleeping in a tent every night, return to the boat.

Warm up, dry your gear, eat a good meal, get some sleep, and get ready to do it again the next morning.

Using the vessel as a base also gives us flexibility to move and adjust throughout the trip based on weather, conditions, and access.

the hunt

These are self-guided transport hunts.

We use the boat to move hunters into hunting areas and provide transportation and logistical support throughout the trip. Once you step ashore, the hunt itself is yours.

You’ll spend your days pursuing Sitka blacktail through Kodiak’s rugged coastal terrain before returning to the vessel in the evening.

This format gives experienced hunters the independence of a self-guided hunt without having to establish and maintain a remote camp.
